  1. I do not go in for beatting of dead horses. But, IMO, after the comments made about participants on this forum, I think perhaps @marcspaz's post deserves a reply. I, for one, would like to know if you somehow confused two separate forums or did you mean you reported the posts you found offensive to the moderator's and they removed them, or is there some other explanation. I like this forum, and I'd like to see it remain a friendly place for all. So, to me, leaving unresolved issues to fester is not a good idea.

  2. I didn't report anything to a Moderator because I didn't feel it was necessary. I complemented O-B-1, Marcspaz, and you on your replies because they're always professional, helpful and informative. I blocked those replies and individuals that I felt were not. I was mistaken that, unlike Facebook, when you block someone that their posts remain, and for that mistake - if there was any confusion - I apologize.

  3. BTW, I have ordered a pair of the new Nagoya 771G 1/2 wave and 701G 1/4 wave antennas to try with my KG-805G radios. I have also ordered the Ed-Fong GMRS roll up. Going to be doing some more range testing around me when they arrive. I am also look forward to winter around here, not because I like cold, but because the leaves will be off the trees and I am really curious to see how range improves in the absence of the leaves. 4. It's just background noise from just about anything. I had a similar issue with only select channels on my 8150 and the issue was eliminated when set to 5 or higher.

  5. I've researched the LMR400 and think you're correct and have ordered it from here. Thanks! https://www.theantennafarm.com/catalog/lmr400-50-nm-6826

  6. It looked like to me he was making as compliment on how professional and civil the response was. I agree. There is a lot of really good information in this thread.

    MOBILE GMRS ANTENNA

Start with a good quality 1/4 wave antenna on an NMO mount. If you find there are stations that you hear, but weakly, then try a 3db gain of some type. Lots of recommendations on the forum. But, most likely, you will be fine with the 1/4 wave.

  8. I'm glad I have been a positive and helpful voice... but are you sure you are thinking of the correct site? You are not a moderator or admin so you can't delete posts or threads and this site doesn't have a "block" feature. The most you can do is hide someone else's posts from your view. Even if you hide someone else's posts, everyone else can still see the posts and you can still select to see any individual posts you want, by clicking on a link where their post placeholder is. Just trying to help and find out what's up.

  9. I’m new to radio with a ham technician ticket and the GMRS license too. No desire to set up a repeater but that’s because Corey and the other repeater owners on MIDWEST GMRS have setup such a wonderful system. Thanks Corey, Buddy, Scott ...etal...for making these repeaters available to us. You guys are very generous and we all appreciate your contribution to GMRS radio.
