  1. Welcome to RAA (Radio Addicts Anonymous).
  2. The only one I can download now is the "Reference" copy. Can't get the "Official" copy. Not sure what the difference is but yeah, when I download the reference copy it does not have the Line A/Line C restriction.
  3. Mine has it. Don't really care though. I never go there.
  4. CW operators as well.
  5. Log into myGMRS.com proper, not the forum. Lots of repeater info there.
  6. True. I think where some people get confused is that some radios use an index for the tone instead of the actual tone itself.
  7. I brought this up in a ham meeting to a guy that is very anti-Baofeng. I said "you got to get one now!" He just stared at me in silence like I had two heads.
  8. Forced? How the heck did that guy maintain that rhythm? And at such a blistering pace?
  9. He's not MY Rubicon.
  10. That or the manufacturer misunderstood the regulations. It is a frustrating thing and that radio isn't the only one like that.
  11. @Hoppyjr you may have helped me decide where to spend my Christmas money. I really would like to switch from a mag-mount to NMO. Also would like a NanoVNA. Decisions, decisions.
  12. Hey, you trying to start another fight?
  13. If they are both in GMRS configuration then yes. The only time it is a problem is when one radio has tones set different from the other. If they can listen on 162.4000 through 162.5500 then yes.
  14. Mine does. I have the U/V and the GMRS and they both work on GMRS.
  15. It's working fine for me. AAMOF, the Abbree 771 UV is working fine on my ham radios as well.
  16. I wonder what it took the get the FCC to send that one letter to that one guy? Whoever prompted that action should publish an FCC How To.
  17. Yep, the FCCs website and database have been in need of a major upgrade for a long time now.
  18. Power and Line Of Sight is not straight forward enough for a blanket statement. Which is why so many answers are prefaced with "it depends."
  19. @WRTC928 sorry to hear it didn't work out for you. I was seriously looking at that radio about a year ago. I'm currently using an AnyTone AT-778UV and it is working well for my.
  20. Aluminum works but if the mount is on some king or skinny rail, it won't work as well. You need to have about 6" of surface if I remember correctly.
  21. NO! Because I have trees, so it's not fair!
  22. @WSGC746 It's an advertising blunder. Not uncommon for the advertising people to have no clue what they are talking about.
  23. Who you calling a freak?
  24. Although the situation you describe certainly does happen, verify your testing method. Often times voice is getting through the repeater but the person's test method is faulty and they think they aren't getting through. The most common problem in this is the transmit radio and the receive radio being too close together creating desence on the receive radio essentially causing it to "go deaf" to the repeater.
