  1. It seems that only one of those connectors (other than the K-1) looks useful: the one for the waterproof radios. Also it is missing the RJ-45 connector used by some radios, including my Radioddity DB20-G and Anytone AT-779UV. So I got all my current cables working on both Windows 10 and 11 instead.
  2. Now there's something upon which we agree!
  3. I’ll check back when someone quotes you for the exact opposite proposition that you believe and see how you respond to it. Cheers!
  4. That one yes save your GMRS default codeplug first i will boot up the software later and research deleting information
  5. Wrong TWICE: I do not agree with you that there is no such thing as a victimless crime! My comments were limited to the oft-cited situation on this Forum that FCC rules breakers are somehow analogous to Speeders! So now do you understand why I do not appreciate your using my quotation for your supposition?
  6. You must use the unlocked mode to achieve your intended result. Somewhere on this forum, I posted my generic GMRS codeplug that follows Part 95E rules for the unlocked mode. What is FPP? Can you give me more detail about your desire to delete Channels? Why not just zero out the data?
  7. Really? Not so sure... It's simple: it was not ME who compared transmitting without a license to speeding! Get it now?
  8. Try to save your pregnant wife's (or daughter's) life in Texas when complications are threatening it! Or try to regulate guns near schools in any state (United States v. Lopez [1995])
  9. HEY: You are going to misquote me so as to make your point?!? I would appreciate it if you would delete your misattributed quote of me or restate it to be the quote of the original author; thank you!
  10. WADR: the families of those 4 Pepperdine College student pedestrians who died by way of a speeder who lost control traveling down the Pacific Coast Hiway in Malibu last October, do not think that speeding is a victimless crime! LA Times article
  11. This may be a Ghost Thread: the OP joined and posted on December 11, 2023 and has never returned...
  12. Is that still your plan?
  13. The vote over on the HAM Forum was decidedly the SAME!
  14. A somewhat controversial opinion: but if they do not respond to your request for permission, just go on the repeater and ask!
  15. WIN maybe, not PAPA as his screenshot seems to be next to Interstate-25 in the Rockies.
  16. "What we got here, is failure to communicate!" And as such, our discussion has drifted from the OP's original question and my original answer. Reviewing our portion of this thread, I could go on and continue with "point/counterpoint." But instead I will agree with you that: "All of this is anecdotal, of course, ... As in everything in life, YMMV" And move on... Happy New Year!
  17. Nothing to get insulted about; I was only curious as to your purpose before giving my aid and comfort. Now that you have expressed your intentions, I have no problem doing that: It seems to me, after reviewing your geography, that you can easily use 462.575 for your simplex communications at up to 50 watts.
  18. I still don’t see an answer as to motivation. You have 15 channels to choose from to transmit Simplex at 5 watts; 7 of which do not interfere with repeaters. But you want to use the 8 channels that are used by repeaters, with tones used by your nearby repeaters on those frequencies and you want to be sure repeater users can hear you? How many repeaters are within your transmit footprint? How many clear channels are there for you to use instead? Sounds flakey to me.
  19. What is your purpose: so you can purposely interfere with repeater users use of these repeaters?
  20. Manual from clone radio: Radioddity DB20-G Radioddity_DB20-G_User_Manual_V3.0_20220310.pdf
  21. Not at all: you live in the foothills of the Sierras. Your experience of not having others nearby you (other than family and friends), nor repeaters that you can reach, does not necessarily translate to the experience that others may encounter; for example, here in Los Angeles.
  22. As in: you transmit to the BTECH GMRS-PRO and it "records" your message during receive and then plays it back on transmit? Sound like a fun feature; now to decide if I should invest $155 (plus tax) to experiment with it! Merry Christmas!
  23. Tried any of these repeaters?
  24. Hence a predilection for recommending others to bring their own contacts! Merry Christmas!
