  1. Our work here is done!
  2. WoW! That says it all…
  3. Exavtly what I am looking for: thanks for the link! I have ordered one to try it out.
  4. According to Google AI: Sounds to me like you need to worry more about your hometown problems and less about "sanctuary cities!"
  5. Thanks but when I purchase more UV-5R batteries for my DMR HT, I am really looking for High Capacity (3800 MAh) that can also charge by USB-C like these [here](https://www.amazon.com/BTECH-BL-5L-Battery-Capacity-BL-5/dp/B07QXT5Z2R)
  6. Which year MacBook Pro? Which version of Mac OS software is running on it? I maintain several older Macs and I probably have an older version of Chirp that supports the UV-5G(X) on one of them. If not, I can research an alternative solution for you.
  7. That doesn’t surprise me that an “upgraded” model uses a different battery. More money to be made from selling more batteries. I may have said this before, but my favorite “open” radios are the Baofeng DM-5R a/k/a Radioddity RD-5R which are also DMR and use UV-5R batteries! Now I just need a couple of USB-C chargable batteries to compliment my collection.
  8. I have similarly thought about turning my Radioddity DB20-G into a porta-pac for easy transportability of a 20 watt rig! I currently use it with my Jackery Explorer 300, but there’s got to be a more convenient “portable” solution! Be sure to report back your results!
  9. Oh! No wonder I can’t find it! You mistyped: Portillo’s!!!
  10. Where’s it located? What freq?
  11. Does it use UV-5R batteries?
  12. Thanks! I will stick with my RD-5R and DM-5R with memory chip upgrade modifications: I have all the batteries I need, except maybe a USB-C or two. They do Ham 2 meters and 440 MHz, GMRS and MURS and DMR.
  13. Are the accessories on this model compatible with UV-5R accessories, specifically the higher capacity UV-5R batteries?
  14. Welcome to this Forum and I see this appears to be your first post since joining in January... It never hurts to provide us with too much information, such as Model Name, computer OS, etc.
  15. “I’ll alert the Media!” - Hobson in “Arthur”
  16. Welcome!! Scan the 8 repeater channels for local activity Use the Repeater Map and Database on this website
  17. Do they then allow for Repeater transmission right out of the box?
  18. Generally speaking, FRS HTs cannot be set for the offsets required by repeaters. In practice, if you have the programming software, you msy be able to offset the transmit frequency by +5 MHz.
  19. Your best bet is the Radioddity DB20-G a/k/a Anytone AT-779UV 20 watt GMRS mini-mobile, cigarette lighter plug, and now supported by Chirp! $89 - $109
  20. The Baofeng UV-13Pro is the Ham Radio version of their Radioddity GM-30 clone, the UV-15. It comes “opened” for GMRS and MURS in addition to 2 meters and 440 MHz. I purchased one because as an HT it will scan repeater inputs and outputs and report the Tones being used. I then retired my Pofung UV-15 and TYT-88UV.
  21. Watch this! He mentions in the first pinned comment that this may no longer work unless you have the original software.
  22. Chirp has been instrumental in helping “unlock” certain GMRS radios that come from the factory locked down to satisfy FCC requirements. The Baofeng UV-5X(G) comes to mind
  23. I have no experience with the DB25-G, but many here complain about it. There is also the strangely confusingly branded DB25-D DMR mini-mobile that also has DMR capabilities in a mini-mobile with cigarette lighter plug functionality at a budget price that is very sound and versatile.
  24. No point in trying to have an intelligent conversation with a name-caller!
  25. Rather than call you names, I will simply point out that no one on this thread, including you, has reported hearing “Los Angeles rioters on GMRS!”
