  1. Does anyone actually use them. I have been using gmrs for a few months now and the only callsigns I have heard used are on one of the repeaters I pick up. It's a group of guys who are truck drivers/dispatch but also hams. Other than that every other repeater and 15-22 I am yet to hear one. I was using mine but honestly now I just use it to clear the chanel at the end

By FCC rules you need to indentify your station every 15 minutes when you have a QSO and as you said to end your conversation and sign out too.

  2. What location are you in and what frequency that the interference is on? And you are correct in saying that this incident has criminal intent. Just let your daughter know if that person comes on the air again and ask her personal question that she do not talk to that person.

Recording is a good idea but whoever the person is may not be in one location and may be moving around so that he cannot be traced exactly where he's at. I would just notified the local authorities and let them know what has been going on. And inform the FCC of your current situation. Other than that I cannot give you any suggestions on what to do I wish I can do more

  3. Hi this is more a question than an answer.

I just want to know is there any rules stating that repeater owners that list their repeater have to have a valid callsign to list their repeater on here. Is there a rule in general that the owner have to have a GMRS license?

  4. Thanks.

He told me the questions were of a personal nature, not what one would be asked when making a payment on-line. he said he felt it was very suspicious. That is all I know.

Yes you need to be careful things like this website like this can be spoofed by people who wants your info to do bad things. The main thing is your identity.
