  1. Yah.. Sorry.. I'm just learning all this socially ree-tarhd-ed stuff.
  2. That guy is just a shill for the cheap-chinese-junk radio manufacturers!!! he is a commie that will say or do anything that his chinese handlers tell him to do!!!!!!! HE DOES NOT EVEN HAVE A HAM LINCESE SO HE SHOULD NOT EVEN BE ALLOWED TO TALK ABOUT RADIOS!!!!1
  3. My take is that you cannot get an accurate SWR reading on an HT antenna without specialized equipment. I also think you should stop overthinking how imperfect you low-cost/mass-produced radio is and just use/enjoy it. If you want a high-quality 'performance' radio, you're going to have to pay a lot more for it.
  4. Are you getting paid by the post or something? Do you get a bonus for pointless/meaningless/non-helpful comments? Or do you do it all for free just so you can revel in the joy of trying to display to everyone how smart you think you are?

    Cool story!
  6. Considering that the very first 6 words of his post were "To start out with I'm new to GMRS" I am going to guess he has no idea what you are saying.. But thats just a guess. The moral of the story: Know your audience..
  7. it is impossible for anyone to answer that question with the scant details you have provided, but here are some things to consider: You might just be too far away to hit the repeater or there may be something (mountain, forrest, etc) blocking the signal The repeater might be offline You might have the wrong tone You might have the wrong frequency You might have the right tone and/or frequency but may have programmed them wrong Probably 1,000,000 other things i'm not thinking of
  8. Try a full-reset of the radio and if that does not help, contact the Tiddy-man and tell him to send you one that works or give back your money.
  9. Great way to welcome potential new members.
  10. I'm so sorry you had to go through this.
  11. I've got 5 or 6 H3's and never seen this happen. I've also looked through the ~1,000 or so comments posted on The GMRS Queen's multiple videos of this radio on the Youtubes, and I see no other reports of this occurring. My guess is that it may have something to do with operator error - but to be fair, I have no idea how the operator would accomplish it.
  12. I has one.. But I can't talk about it because that might be comparing apples to oranges and apparently that makes "some people" very sad.
  13. For that you should try the Grindr app.. I've had great success with it. Or H.A.M. radio.
  14. I just saw all the soy-tears.. but FYI, those are not sad-GMRS'ers.. those are Sad-H.A.M.s trying to disguise themselves as regular GMRS'ers, and failing..
  15. Someone should make a video about this on the Youtubes.
  16. Someone Tweeted this on the X:
  17. Perfect example (that none of the kiddies will understand) - and exactly the same thing.
  18. It has always been Pofung and always marketed as "Baofeng" - The screenshot shows whats different now, in that they are now saying "formerly Baofeng" and the radios now say "Pofung".
  19. OBVIOUSLY it is pronounced POOF-WHANG ! ...where is this screenshot from? Do you have a link?
  20. What he said was: "roger beep noise BAD!! But a slightly different sounding roger-beep noise, known as MDC, GOOD"
  21. I was going to mention the same thing. Not sure about older type scanners, but if it is a newer, SDR-type scanner like my SDS200, they are VERY sensitive and too much power, too close to the antenna can bork it.
  22. Based on all your multiple previous comments about how EVERY person you know dumps EVERY radio (Midland, Retevis, TidRadio, Wouxun) unless that radio happens to be the same brand of radios that you use, it is becoming clear that you don't actually know anyone. ... Or, you are just F.O.S. But either way, your mythomaniac comments are great for pointing at and laughing so keep up the good work!
  23. You can go into the camera settings and tell it to store your images as good, old-fashioned .JPG images, if that is your preference.
  24. Sorry to ruin the surprise for you, but the GXT3000 does not have a removable antenna
