    I like how you can set it. Helps when monitoring at home and not having to stare at it or pick it up to check if its on. TidRadi radios are feature packed. Hard to go to other radios without missing something.

    Just got my new 935G Plus the other day. It appears to be the most robust and solid GMRS radio from my research. Display is super bright compared to my Q10H and in some ways has better features. I think anyone with the cash should get it if you do a lot of GMRS. Still wondering if the desktop charger on the 935G will charge my Q10H batteries and vice versa, seems nicer then the on that came with my Q10H.

    Yes, mentioned earlier. Manly have it programed for GMRS, but use the higher numbers for other bands. No issues transmitting or receiving.

    Hmm, maybe because i manually entered most of my memory and/or BT transferred from one to another? I'm pretty sure my AM is over 50 as well. Must be something input or a setting that causing it.

    My Midland has been fine for the passed 4 years or so, from -5 up to 140+. Just don't buy junk and its fine.

    I like my Q10H for the most versatility, but I'm sure i would prefer some of the better Ham radio manufacturers if i really delved into Ham. Just got a KG935G Plus and its pretty awesome for GMRS, love the features and i really couldn't find anything equivalent. Even without a budget.

    Limitation of the machine. lol Maybe? Technically I transmitted on CH185 on ~2M. Haven't tried GMRS that high.

    I have no issues transmitting on higher channels. 185 for example, no issue. GMRS version unlocked.

    I don't use CHIRP, I use the app or the TID software. Same with my Wouxun. App is pretty sweet on the TID's. If i had a different radio than those i would use CHIRP.

    Good info! Just order a 935G+ since i was looking for a dedicated GMRS and the 935H only does 3.5-5.5 watts on GMRS anyway. I already have the Q10H, which i have been happy with. I should test my Q10H output, though i only have a Surecom and my regular antennas to test with.

    Thanks. May get the 935G Plus then. Definitely need a ride to radio anonymous meeting. I have 4 cheap radios and the Q10H and am looking for more. What's bad is i have no friends to share them with and no repeaters around me. I so I need some serious help...

    That's exactly my dilemma, thinking of family members (but i guess i can lock the radio). I also love that the Q10H can also double as a repeater.

    If you were to do it over would you rather have 2 Q10H's or a Q10H and 935H? Or just as you have it?

    Definitely seem to be great choices either way for quality. I'm thinking of getting the 935, or another Q10. Both seem to be the best of the best and have all the features you could ever want.

    Q10H/G can also be used as a repeater. Have you tried that yet?

    Interesting. I would think finding the tallest tree on the tallest mountain would be ideal. But i can see putting a KG10H in repeater mode and launching it up with a balloon would work for a while. Longer flights would require a solar panel and bigger balloon.

    Curious, why go with a KG-935G Plus when you can go with a KG-Q10G for only $50 more?

    Definitely reading too much into it, following the sentiment of this thread, it is only GMRS in the end.

    What if its a portable radio? "Control of his/her stations" implies licensee would need to be with them. Hard to be 2+ places at the same time, could be many miles away from each other.

    That's kinda odd to start a post like that. It's not the case at all, why state it like fact? What did the FCC say when you called them to make you think this? People buy non license required GMRS radios all the time, not a far stretch to allow family to use licensed GMRS users devices. Probably why they changed it to allowing.

    O nooo, i have been transmitting on 8-14 at .8 watts. IMO Kenwood should pay the fine for making a radio that does that by default.
