WSCH851 Posted April 30, 2024 Report Posted April 30, 2024 The word “HAM” as applied to 1908 was the station CALL of the first amateur wireless station operated by some amateurs of the Harvard Radio Club. They were Albert S. Hyman, Bob Almy, and Poogie Murray. At first they called their station “HYMAN-ALMY-MURRAY”. Quote

It is obviously the fault of some guy on Youtube daring to point out the fact that the FCCs don't care/does nothing to enforce the H.A.M., CB, or GMRS rules!!!1 Expand The problem in the Santa Clarita area is the Repeaters are creating the interference with automatic announcements. Announcements they are not supposed to be doing. Plus everyone in this area wants to fight and argue. I almost don't turn the radio on anymore. Even the ham club guys are involved in the arguments. I almost attended one club meeting. But, the silliness on air turned me off for even that. PS, I have heard many of your videos. Good for you. Quote

WRYZ926 Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago We had our weekly 2m net and our monthly GMRS net last night. We always have the 2m net first. One of our members tried checking into the 2m net 2 or 3 times last night but he was on the GMRS repeater. We gave him some trouble once he grabbed the correct mic to check in on the 2m repeater. It happened from time to time when you have both licenses. Most of us have done it a time or three. WRXB215 1 Quote
