It's like the other voices can't get a word in. I hate when that happens. I have to deal with that myself. It gets so bad at times that I can't even keep my call signs straight. WSCH851 1 Quote
WSCH851 Posted April 30 Report Posted April 30 The word “HAM” as applied to 1908 was the station CALL of the first amateur wireless station operated by some amateurs of the Harvard Radio Club. They were Albert S. Hyman, Bob Almy, and Poogie Murray. At first they called their station “HYMAN-ALMY-MURRAY”. Quote

Anyone that thinks otherwise obviously does not even have a H.A.M. radio license. WRQI663 1 Quote

I've heard that story before, but the Harvard Radio Club history says nothing of it: http://w1af.harvard.edu/php/history.php Wikipedia has an interesting page on the etymology of "ham". A couple different versions of that story appear there, but nothing truly definitive. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Etymology_of_ham_radio WRXB215 and WRUU653 1 1 Quote

Love all your videos on Rumble, Sir. BRB...I gotta print this page out so I can frame it and hang it on the wall of my shack! Shaking Elvis's hand would be icky considering how long he's been cold. Meeting him would be even worse, because that would mean I was with him. Not sure if Randy has been complimented or insulted. Hans 1 Quote

SOBX Posted May 1 Report Posted May 1 Cold and icky handshakes are OK if they're on the square and level. ;) Hans 1 Quote

It is obviously the fault of some guy on Youtube daring to point out the fact that the FCCs don't care/does nothing to enforce the H.A.M., CB, or GMRS rules!!!1 The problem in the Santa Clarita area is the Repeaters are creating the interference with automatic announcements. Announcements they are not supposed to be doing. Plus everyone in this area wants to fight and argue. I almost don't turn the radio on anymore. Even the ham club guys are involved in the arguments. I almost attended one club meeting. But, the silliness on air turned me off for even that. PS, I have heard many of your videos. Good for you. Hans 1 Quote
