WSCB811 Posted April 24 Report Share Posted April 24 I noticed that on myGMRS you can view a user’s location by lookin up their call sign. Is there a “reverse” function of this? In other words, view a list of call signs / myGMRS users in a specified area? Would be cool to be able to add some local users on this website, but also understandable if this feature would be considered a privacy concern…. Even on repeaters most of the use is still between people who know eachother and have something specific to deal with. Not just some random “contact”. Why not? Get to know your neighbors and maybe make a new friend. If they asked to stop by the house, that would be another thing. But to just talk on the radio would be fine. Ignore the people on here who try to limit it to what they want. It's a licensed radio service for you to use however you want within the rules. gortex2 Posted July 1 Report Share Posted July 1 First off no one knows my call sign around me. I dont plaster it on my vehicles nor even tell many folks I have it. It was and is still used for my familty use. Being I live in the country I really dont see neighbors calling me. Again why would I even remotely need to answer someone. Thats not why I got GMRS 25+ years ago. If I want to chat with someone I'll go to another service. Just becasue this service is now ham lite and everyone thinks they need to rag chew on a repeater or have a SHTF need for it doenst mean we all do.
