If there is at least one FRS radio in the group, set all to narrow. If there are NO FRS radios in the group, set all to wide.

@desertbird I'm not sure what you mean by "locked up." GMRS radios are usually locked via the firmware such that neither the OEM software nor CHIRP can change them outside of regulation. Also, as far as I know the GM30 and GM15 aren't yet supported by CHIRP. If this has changed, please let me know.

There is also an actual Baofeng GM15 software but I had to send Guido to beat it out of them. Don't know why they make it so hard to get.

I don't know how long it's been this way and I may be misunderstanding exactly what it means but under "My Repeaters" there are two tabs, one for Favorite Repeaters and one for Owned Repeaters. Perhaps this will help.

@desertbird the decimal mismatch. There is a thread here where a couple of people did a firmware upgrade and it fixed that problem. I still haven't done it on mine because I don't use these radios with a repeater so it doesn't matter in my case.

@desertbird what radio are you using? If it's a GM15 or a GM30 you will probably have to do a firmware upgrade to fix the problem.

The number in a ham license indicates geographic region but no such indicator for GMRS.

This is exactly where I see the GM-30. It's a great radio for that but buyers do need to know what they are getting. I have heard somewhere on this forum that there is a fix for some of the repeater channel issues.

Yep, I think only the extended battery has that. But I'm not even sure about that since I don't have one. I've wondered if you could make one.

It's not uncommon to be able to activate the repeater but not be able to get a readable signal through. -
I use plain spelling unless the person on the other end has trouble understanding me. Then I use the NATO phonetic alphabet to clear it up. B and V sometimes get confused and also D and T.
