  1. Last I checked the Ra-25 still does not work with CHIRP.
  2. Using your photo above, you have Channel 25 in the A Bank and VFO in the B Bank Hit the FUN button to enter Menu Mode and use the V/M and Main as up and down keys to run to Menu 19:DSPSUB. Using the Up and Down arrow keys your selections in this menu 19 are: Off, FREQ, VOLT and it looks like you are in FREQ mode in Menu 19, which is correct for dual monitor. Hit the FUN button to exit Menu Mode for now. Now Hit the Main button to swap the B Bank VFO into the top (main monitor) and A Bank Channel 25 goes to the bottom (secondary monitor). You can now exit VFO Mode and have the B Bank enter Channel Mode by hitting the V/M button and then select your secondary monitor channel using the Up and Down Arrow keys. Hit MAIN to restore your A Bank Channel 25 to your Primary monitor and the newly selected B Bank Channel goes down to the Secondary monitor. Unless you find a way around this upcoming problem that I will note, I do not like this feature because I find that whichever channel receives a signal first will take priority in the receiver. So if I am listening to a conversation in the A Bank and they let the carrier go and at that moment someone hits a carrier on the B Bank Channel, it will take priority on my receiver and I cannot hear the other party's response on the A Bank. Maybe there is an option around this, but I have not yet found it, so I go back to Menu 19:DSPSUB and turn it to OFF and just use the single monitor.
  3. Send an email suggesting the desire to donate a radio: chirp-vendors@danplanet.com And reference the manufacturer and model number in the reference line
  4. It appears you have it set correctly, so my best guess it is an issue of power, antenna and line of sight. If you can get a ride and confirm that it works, then perhaps a better antenna, such as the 771 models available, might help. Even a window or back yard location that has better line of sight to the repeater and less walls to block signals.
  5. Correct you can use v2.02 with your firmware What version firmware do you have?
  6. Radioddity software version 2.02? channels 31-54?
  7. You used Menu #13 to set CTCSS as 162.2? I advise that you keep Menu #11 - Rx CTCSS as OFF. What happens when you attempt to access this repeater? Have you driven closer to it?
  8. Yes, you put the member's screen name preceded by a @ symbol; such as: @WRYS709 And that will send that member a notification that you have mentioned him in a post. The other way is to send a private message (through the envelope at the top), if you want to keep it from being posted to others.
  9. Did your GM-15 come with a USB programming cable? If so, do you have a computer with Windows XP or later? Which repeater only 3 miles away are you trying to reach: The Evanston 725 or the Lincolnwood 575? Using my Baofeng UV-13Pro, which is the Ham Radio version of their GM-15, I would program Evanston 725 from the keyboard, this way: Go to Channel 30, which is the preprogrammed channel for the 725 repeater; Then push the MENU button and press the UP arrow key until you get to Menu #13 - Tx CTCSS and then press Menu Again and either "OFF" or a tone number, such as "67.0" will appear and use the UP and DOWN arrow keys to get to "100.0" and then press MENU again to confirm and store 100.0 into channel 30. Now press EXIT. Now try to transmit to the repeater again and see if you hear the "tail" of the repeater after you "kerchunk" the Push-To-Talk button. Try it outside and even take a ride to the location of the repeater and try again. Identify yourself with your callsign and ask if anyone can hear you. Good luck and report back! Now to go back to sleep! Be sure to stop at SuperDawg on the way home!
  10. My apologies, Alfred. As noted by Brian, who joined this forum 24 hours after he obtained his GMRS license, I DID get up on the wrong side of the bed, this morning!

A Guest asking for advice about using repeaters?!? Get a license; join this forum. Put a little skin in the game, or move along!
  12. Why are you a Guest? If you are using repeaters, you need a GMRS license and should join this forum. Otherwise, in my estimation: move along! Nothing to see here!
  13. Your last question was for the Radioddity DB25-G; is this request a typo?
  14. I think you just did; nice work!
  15. I don't have any direct experience with Midlands, but from what I read here on this forum, some models, especially the older ones, tend to be programmed (or even fixed in firmware) for Narrow Band FM. Be sure to try to change it to Wide Band FM for better audio compatibility with your DB20-G and Repeaters.
  16. Is there an echo in here!? How does the DB20-G compare in fars to your Kenwood? It out performs my Yaesu FT-857d on FM, but that's 20 watts compared to 20 watts. Your Kenwood is up to 65 watts?
  17. OMG: which radio is on the dash?
  18. Two problems with that mount: 1) You're blocking the speaker on the bottom with the seat and 2) In my experience, it gets HOT! Does not look like there is enough space for cooling.
  19. Yes, that is on the "output" of the repeater, 462.xyz; I was suggesting you take a road trip to get closer to the repeater and when you can hear people on the "input" of the repeater, 467.xyz, then you are pretty assured you are close enough to also trigger the repeater, if your radio is setup properly.
  20. You can tell more about that antenna than I can from that photo: Then why would he need an adapter?
  21. There is a post on this forum somewhere that shows how to use an inexpensive plumbers cap to make a cup-holder mount that easily connects to that radio; I use one in the EV with the cigarette lighter plug and a $20 dual band mag-mount from Letsgetreadyinc.com In my shack I find that the DB20-G outperforms my Yaesu FT-857d FM on 2 meters and 440 MHz with the rooftop antenna. Let me know if you can get Odmaster to work; I am not optimistic as some reports on the Chirp website say Radioddity used a non-common serial port protocols in their communications protocol with the RJ-45 cable.
  22. Great savings for a hearty HT and an awesome mini-mobile! Let me know if you have any DB20-G questions...
  23. Never hurts to have a road trip to near the repeater and see if you can also hear others on the input frequency and then contact them through the repeater.
  24. How is he supposed to put a BNC antenna on his SMA HT without an adapter?
