  2. Gee officer, what mic was i using?
  3. Then, at 60 mph, what mic were you using? My truck has 4 mics. 6 meter, 11 meter (cb) 2 meter / 70cm Gmrs
  4. Wow, The cops are the good guys.............. unless they are busting me! Depending on the state your in, If you have a license for the radio being used, ypur probaly OK.
  5. Maybe this would explain my social problems.....?
  6. What happens to brain cells when a 10watt hh radio is used, held up to the ear..?
  7. Thank GOD for Amazon, Nothing needs any more acceptance Than an Amazon product code.
  8. Gosh, Doesn't anybody have an opinion here.
  9. Hi Extreme, Keith T here. I have a similar mount setup. Headache rack with gmrs antenna on. A 8"x8" x 1/8 plate center top. Also , cophase cb antenna at 1/8 wavelenth o edges of rack.
  10. And that is one of the reasons your dumping your Midland 400 radios.
  11. Wow, I havent a clue what this Zello, Gmrs Zello is. Am I the only one on this forum that is stupid, or what.
  12. Hi Jason, welcome to the forum. Midland radios are tough to use on gmrs. They are narrow band. They do not support split pl tones. I have 2, a 275 and a 400. Midland decided to make them the same as their handhelds. Most repeaters you will find are wideband. They will also support split pl tones, Midland will not. I also have a baofung hand held, its not a bad radio, people here will say otherwise. My advise to you is to read every post about ccr radios (Cheap Chinese Radios) and decide from an informed view point AFTER you have read their input!
  13. A difference that makes no difference is no difference.
  14. Hmmmmmm, if you dont like your neighbor??....................,!!
  15. Hi Marc If the only problem with the Midland is number of channels (same frequency, different pl tones) Consider Luiton LT 590 UHF. Yes it is a CCR but it is also the same radio as the Midland 400. 200 channels, wide or narrow band, comes with programming software, and cable. 3 power levels, 45, 25, 10 watts. Split pl tones. Mi fe was 139$ at amazon.
  16. MERRY CHRISTMAS, Good wishes to all at this forum.
  17. Oops, forgot this part. The Luiton is also either wide band or narrow. Its also capable of split pl tones. Sells for just a little over 1/2 the price of the Midland.
  18. The Luiton LT-590 UHF and the Midland 400, except for badging and firmware, are the same radio. I have both. Opened up they are identical. The Luiton comes with programming software and programming cable, 200 channels.
  19. There is a RT 97 portable repeater offered for 300$ an change. 10 watt output ??. Any body know this radio?
  20. I have a Btech uv82hp. Its rated at 7 watts UHF but it only puts out 5.9 watts at GMRS frequencies. This is not enough over 5 watts to make any difference. It is small in size, on the same frame as Btech Gmrs-v1.
  21. Most of the bubble pack frs radios will scan codes. Might be a cheap way?
  22. Oops, I misread the radio model number. Please disregard my previous post.
  23. Ljones, Hi, yes the raido is capable of split tones. They stay until you change them. No, you cannot transmit on MURS.
  24. The amazing part of this is that Btech is connected to Bao Fung, a company in Communist China, (not a country noted for religous tolerance). Given this, Kudos to Btech. I am not supporting their religous beliefs but I do support their willingness to voice them given the company's country of orgin.
  25. Hey Mr. Marcspaz, You did a most outstanding job on the evaluation of the GMRS-50X1. Proof of this is that You are now the go to man for this radio. I did buy one in spite of the reviews. However, I run it at 25watts. Without any test equipment I can only say it works great out of the box. I have a Midland 400, & 275 and all reports have it sounding much louder with more clarity than the Midlands. Tnhanks again for the review. Keith T.
