Amatuer Radio Newsline wants to remind Everyone that 2/13/2025 is Love your Radio Day !!
-
Buytwowayradios also has a Optional 3200 mah Battery that Does work on the 935G/H but requires the charge cradle, since there's not a USB-C port on those.

Motorola xpr mobiles and programming software
Jaay replied to VETCOMMS's question in Technical Discussion
CPS2.0 from a Motorola user account is what you need. -
knowledgeable group of people for sure. Nope, No magic touch here, and definitely not a Guru, but over time I've learned some of the anytone madness and workarounds with their Cps. The Sat tracking I have no use for on the 878's and No use for the new 168 talkie either.
-
I have a 878UV Plus with bluetooth and gps, and Not a bit of issue with it . I also have the 578UV Pro and no issues with it Or the Cps. Both radios are the original firmware. The trick with these, is NOT to update the damn firmware every time a new revision comes out, Unless it's a bug fix and is Proven to solve the issue. I've had Anytones for 6 years, and numerous Dmr radios, and everyone has issues with them, but me. Get a FIRM understanding of the Cps and anytone's software, that's the key !

My Yaesu FT 991A for Ham activities, my Kenwood TK-880 for Gmrs, and my Yaesu FT 70D if I'm on foot, among Others.

Did you figure out your ANI dilemma yet? We explained this to you on radioreference.com or at least I thought we did ? Recheck the responses to you over there.
-
Just curious, but did you do these measurements into a dummy load, or a Antenna ? I'm also considering a 935H.
-
I'm also considering a 935H, but I guess I'm waiting for more reviews on it first. I see there's also a Optional 3200mah battery for it too !
-
Go with RT Systems software. Yes it costs a little, but it just works flawlessly. Chirp is free, sketchy software for radios you don't care if you brick.

Gotcha ! I'm not one of those Dusty old Curmudgeon guys ! ... Maybe Dusty fits tho...

Some operators are Simply Not content with Following the Rules, and are intent on pushing the envelope! If you like the Linking aspect of repeaters, then simply take the test, receive your Amateur Radio License and have fun ! There are Only 8 Pairs available, hence Not enough bandwidth to support Linking and Disrespectful to users on other pairs. I hold licenses in Both services, and see the Benefits of Both.

What radios do people use for MURS?
Jaay replied to Lscott's topic in Multi-Use Radio Service (MURS)
TID H-8 and a XTS2500 and a newly bought Moto Xpr6550 -
There's guys yakking everyday on and off about a variety of topics on ch.8 north of me. Sometimes I'll ID and join in, but I'm more of a lurker than a talker.
-
This is happening here in my area ,as well. I think AI is a rabbit hole not worth going down, as it's too tempting for the wrong people to use it in the WRONG ways.
-
IF I was a student, you'd never know I had one, due to a different tactic, not that I'd be better than other students, but I'd be more private about it.
-
Most of the users in my area don't seem to be Talkers, but mostly lurkers. I throw out Both my calls a few times a day, and locals respond but rarely anyone new. I hear several ops in the wisconsin , Indiana area but nobody in mine. As far as I know, there's only 4 licensed gmrs ops in my town.
-
How many of the students use "Decoy phones" ? No subscriber data or sim ? Several of our students in my area stick their decoys in those bags, and keep their op devices hid and on vibrate or off, and just check them in the bathrooms.
-
NO they haven't. Shame on you.
-
And the TID H-8 Second Gen models ?
-
Correct; The TID H8 has no audio/tx provisions for using Bluetooth, unfortunately.
-
I see it, I buy it. What's a wife ?
-
You went to the Wrong band camp !

Hi ! Usually prefer my Ftm 7250, or my AT-578, depends on the mood I guess with a Comet CA-2x4SRJ at 50'
