POC Radios are NOT Legal to connect by Any mean to Gmrs Repeaters. I watched your video, and to clarify the FCC's ruling that Interconnection allowing Voice over internet Protocol {VOIP} is not allowed. a PBX line would be allowed Only for DTMF Control of a repeater, but Not voice comms. This has Always been the rule, and nothing new. Unfortunately Many people misunderstand the wording of the commission's view on this.
Sorry to rain on your plan.

I tend to disagree with that since the originating signal is on LTE digital mode and converted to analog FM not directly connected and not inter-connected VOIP to the repeater not sure if that qualifies as VOIP at this point. I would be happy to challenge the ruling if it came to that. I am working with a few other GMRS repeater owners that are preparing an updated proposal challenging the interpretation of ruling if needed. You state it has always been a rule but refer to a recent ruling or clarification? As you can see it is still clear as mud. One of the key points is terminology ((1) Enables real-time, two-way voice communications;)Thank you and I appreciate your bringing this to my attention.
as example:
GMRS stations may not be interconnected to the public switched telephone network as per 95.127. However, proposing to use a VoIP link between the two repeater sites is permissible if the link is considered non-interconnected VoIP. VoIP can either be an interconnected VoIP service or non-interconnected VoIP service, see the definitions below. It is my understanding that if your internet provider is the cable company, it’s fine; but if you have DSL or dial-up internet from the phone company, it isn’t.
The second method using RF to link the two repeater sites is allowed so long as the link meets the rules and limitations for fixed stations pursuant to the Part 95 rules.
§64.601
(23) Non-interconnected VoIP service. The term “non-interconnected VoIP service”—
(i) Means a service that—
(A) Enables real-time voice communications that originate from or terminate to the user’s location using Internet protocol or any successor protocol; and
(B) Requires Internet protocol compatible customer premises equipment; and
(ii) Does not include any service that is an interconnected VoIP service.
§9.3
Interconnected VoIP service. An interconnected Voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) service is a service that:
(1) Enables real-time, two-way voice communications;
(2) Requires a broadband connection from the user’s location;
(3) Requires Internet protocol-compatible customer premises equipment (CPE); and
(4) Permits users generally to receive calls that originate on the public switched telephone network and to terminate calls to the public switched telephone network. -
Your connection to a Gmrs repeater using Any POC Android device is NOT approved for Gmrs use. It's just that Simple. Gmrs is intended for Short range Analog communications, Analog Radio to Analog repeater OR Analog Radio to Analog Radio. Trying to Con people into wasting their money on POC radios with the intention of telling them it's Gmrs or trying to Use Gmrs frequencies with Anything other than Analog Type Accepted Uhf radio is Illegal.
