  1. True to some extent, but the way to combat this is Do Not buy your chinesium from Amazon, Fleabay or shop409, etc. Stay with reputable retailers here in the states, which offer Warranties, such as buytwowayradios.com
  2. Well Mine is accurate, and those of others I've seen, are accurate. If not they can easily be calibrated too.
  3. A little more money, but Good choices are the Diamond SX-600 or the MFJ-849 if you can find one.
  4. Are you using the ODMaster app to program your H-3 or a cable ?

  8. NOT a stupid question at all ! Those are part 90 Itinerant Business and industrial frequencies which require a part 90 license, and have Nothing at all to do with Gmrs .
  9. Lately, I've tried MURS on my Wouxun KG-935H and it works Very well !
  10. If I remember correctly, the Motorola headsets that coaches call out plays on that they wear during NFL games are FHSS or Frequency Hopping, Spread Spectrum, which you have NO chance in hell of hearing. or *Maybe* if you have the Same headset, which are not cheap.
  11. Like Steve said, Antenna Farm, or Arcadian.com, Pulse/Larsen, any of these should have NMO mounts for the Larsen NMO-27, which is a far better antenna than your Tram/Browning.
  12. Do you Sell Snake Oil as well as your POS Radios, because this continual Scam has been tried before, and Failed as it's doing Now. Jay
  13. Every now and then I hear Wide Load Escorts come through town, they use Gmrs and are unclear on directions, so it's fun to jump in and help them get where they're going !
  14. I routinely hear a local Nursing home, with employees talking about residents on .625 and a local Dispensary calling out orders on .7125
  15. I try and not listen to any one else I don’t know. I try and find channels with no traffic then use tones. Can’t stand to listen to strangers on the radio. Then Maybe you should turn it Off, since there are Millions on the air you don't know .
  16. Just don't offer Candy from a non-descript old van ...
  17. POC Radios are NOT Legal to connect by Any mean to Gmrs Repeaters. I watched your video, and to clarify the FCC's ruling that Interconnection allowing Voice over internet Protocol {VOIP} is not allowed. a PBX line would be allowed Only for DTMF Control of a repeater, but Not voice comms.  This has Always been the rule, and nothing new. Unfortunately Many people misunderstand the wording of the commission's view on this.

    Sorry to rain on your plan.

      I tend to disagree with that since the originating signal is on LTE digital mode and converted to analog FM not directly connected and not inter-connected VOIP to the repeater not sure if that qualifies as VOIP at this point. I would be happy to challenge the ruling if it came to that. I am working with a few other GMRS repeater owners that are preparing an updated proposal challenging the interpretation of ruling if needed. You state it has always been a rule but refer to a recent ruling or clarification? As you can see it is still clear as mud. One of the key points is terminology ((1) Enables real-time, two-way voice communications;)Thank you and I appreciate your bringing this to my attention.

      as example:

      GMRS stations may not be interconnected to the public switched telephone network as per 95.127. However, proposing to use a VoIP link between the two repeater sites is permissible if the link is considered non-interconnected VoIP. VoIP can either be an interconnected VoIP service or non-interconnected VoIP service, see the definitions below. It is my understanding that if your internet provider is the cable company, it’s fine; but if you have DSL or dial-up internet from the phone company, it isn’t.

      The second method using RF to link the two repeater sites is allowed so long as the link meets the rules and limitations for fixed stations pursuant to the Part 95 rules.

      §64.601

      (23) Non-interconnected VoIP service. The term “non-interconnected VoIP service”—

      (i) Means a service that—

      (A) Enables real-time voice communications that originate from or terminate to the user’s location using Internet protocol or any successor protocol; and

      (B) Requires Internet protocol compatible customer premises equipment; and

      (ii) Does not include any service that is an interconnected VoIP service.

      §9.3

      Interconnected VoIP service. An interconnected Voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) service is a service that:
      (1) Enables real-time, two-way voice communications;
      (2) Requires a broadband connection from the user’s location;
      (3) Requires Internet protocol-compatible customer premises equipment (CPE); and
      (4) Permits users generally to receive calls that originate on the public switched telephone network and to terminate calls to the public switched telephone network.

      Your connection to a Gmrs repeater using Any POC Android device is NOT approved for Gmrs use. It's just that Simple. Gmrs is intended for Short range Analog communications,  Analog Radio to Analog  repeater OR Analog Radio to Analog Radio. Trying to Con people into wasting their money on POC radios with the intention of telling them it's Gmrs or trying to Use Gmrs frequencies with Anything other than Analog Type Accepted Uhf radio is Illegal.

  18. Has Anyone noticed, that the Original poster, "Suburbazine" asking the question has never replied to any of your responses ?
  19. As a added note, concerning Anyone choosing to purchase the 935H, I noticed yesterday it apparently has the Same Problem the FIRST edition of TID H-8's with the battery discharging a Shock from the Positive battery contact, while transmitting ! While holding the 935H in my right hand touching the Battery Contact, I felt a Zap or charge while transmitting ! FYI. I'm going to Call buytwowayradios.com on Monday and tell them this occurred and see if they know about it.
  20. buytwowayradios.com in their video promoting this radio, stated that one of the Improvements over the 935G was a Much brighter display option, so it could be seen easier in bright sunlight. I can say the 935H has a VERY bright display, if you set it to max.
