  1. @WRXD372 respectfully a heads up on the forums rules for posting repeater info… this keeps the info to members only. Private content. Do not post sensitive information such as repeater PL/DPL (also known as privacy or CTCSS/DCS tones) tones outside of the Private Discussion forum. This is to protect sensitive information from being picked up and indexed by search engines such as Google and Bing.
  2. What repeater contract are you refering to? There's no implied agreement. What are you talking about? The FCC seems to disagree with you. Sounds like you mean entitlement, which is not a thing, legally speaking as far as I know. (2) May allow any person to use (i.e., benefit from the operation of) its GMRS repeater, or alternatively, may limit the use of its GMRS repeater to specific persons; Enhanced Content - Paragraph Tools URL https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-47/part-95/section-95.1705#p-95.1705(d)(2) Citation 47 CFR 95.1705(d)(2) (3) May disallow the use of its GMRS repeater by specific persons as may be necessary to carry out its responsibilities under this section.
  3. Obligation? Where can I find this binding agreement?
  4. But no one ever heard him… he should have got a Garmin inReach . The end.
  5. @WRWE456 you’re faster at typing and better said at that.
  6. As @Lscott says, we need more information. It could be that you are on a simplex channel and hearing people on a repeater or even the other people are just using tones in which they won’t hear you unless you have the same tones set.
  7. …that can reach the local GMRS repeater that’s linked to the Zillow network
  8. can we argue about the Roger Randy Beep (fixed it) next pleeeeease. Thanks guys I needed a good laugh.
  9. If you are getting a install it again it's already installed. Look for where that is. My windows XP will put it on the desk top... I'll let the Windows people take this, I have one but don't use it much.
  10. Welcome to the forum @jswed. There's some smart people here to help with your questions.
  11. What kind of computer are you on? If you are on a Mac and you downloaded Chirp already it will be in your downloads folder. First plug your radio in to the computer via programming cable and make sure radio is on. Click on Chirp in downloads folder to open. Then click on “Radio” in the upper left corner. Click on “download from radio”.
  12. Welcome @WRXZ627, what a great ham call sign
  13. Welcome @WRXZ634, as @WRXD372 says you have come to the right place.
  14. How does having a repeater only available for family members prevent that person from not being effected by others on all the same frequencies? I’m not saying you may not have a valid criticism of their said criticism but this statement lacks context. Was there more to this? Edit- I tried to look back through the thread for context but it was a jungle out there.
  15. Michael’s not been logged in since May 1, you might try sending him a personal message and he may get that. I don’t know if there are but I think he would know.
  16. Welcome aboard @gaberelli
  17. Reading this thread reminds me of this Just substitute FCC for Phone Cops
  18. Welcome @WRXX896 to Mygmrs. 73’s
  19. You talked me into it. Just ordered the 5mm
  20. I found these and at least one review where they used them for this very purpose and gave them 5 stars. I like the wider point of contact for holding the cover down. For me though I just don’t pull the cover that often and don’t mind using a screwdriver. I do appreciate the desire to have the ease of use though.
  21. I did exactly what you did earlier right down to going into the garage only to find my gauge also didn’t go that small… then it occurred to me to search the GT-3WP and I got lucky
  22. M2.5 x 5 mm, head diameter 6 mm per this video. The GT-3WP is the same as the UV-9G
  23. Ich muss meinem Bruder sagen, als er heute in Deutschland ankam… och svenska också Mmmm Ovaltine
  24. I have heard tale of some people that changed the antenna after some force was applied thus separating the glue holding the stock antenna in place. Seems I may have picked this up from a certain YouTuber. As I don’t have this radio I can not personally confirm this.
