Guest Posted September 27, 2024 Report Posted September 27, 2024 Don’t we have enough of these posts? This is why I wish I could block whole threads. Quote
WRYZ926 Posted September 27, 2024 Report Posted September 27, 2024 I have to agree that this horses has been beaten so much it should be minced meat by now. I read the statement on the gmrslive website and that is just one person's opinion on the matter. WRUE951 1 Quote

WRKC935 Posted September 28, 2024 Report Posted September 28, 2024 Well, he certainly called out NotARubicon on that. The parties over. Lets leave this to die. There are other options. But no one seems to want to go that route. Easiest is change frequencies and bring the nodes up on ham. Ham repeaters can be closed, as in if you don't have a valid GMRS license and were part of the GMRS linked groups, your not allowed on the new ham repeaters. gortex2 and AdmiralCochrane 2 Quote

I don't know exactly what they're doing but I can tell it involves linking repeaters to internet access (nodes?). I didn't see any listing on the site but that may be my content blocking interfering. Wouldn't being listed there be telling everyone you're breaking the rules? (I mean the repeater owner not the site owner.) Raybestos 1 Quote

(I mean the repeater owner not the site owner.) Managing/coordinating digital traffic is not a crime. Whoever operates such digital systems in GMRS would be actual persons breaking rules. Yes, being listed would be opening a door but if personal identifiable information is not listed, than not much is being revealed. Quote

I support FCC's strict prohibition on linking. Stand alone repeaters are enough. If they were to allow some linking it should be done by special permit only. Raybestos 1 Quote

UncleYoda Posted 18 hours ago Report Posted 18 hours ago I responded the way I wanted to (I don't care if it satisfies you). If you think you have good justification for linking, present your case to the FCC. As far as unjust, the only reg that comes close to that in my opinion is not allowing base stations to use repeaters. Quote

Huh, is there any possibility that you can explain what you are trying to convey? I'm kinda less than a bright person and I am not a college boy and I barely got my high school diploma and I had to go to summer school to get the diploma. So, what the hell are you trying to say? What regulation are you referring to? Quote
