DTC tones are always, by default "N" which means Normal. So only if specified, would it be "i" which means Inverted. -

are you sure you are using the correct tones for the repeater? are you really certain it is working properly? ie; is the duplexer tuned correctly for the channel its using?

What kind of cable are you using? what kind of computer do you have? What happens when it "can't read"? Do you get an error? What does it say?

look at the repeater coverage map here at MyGMRS to see if there are any other repeaters listed. monitor the repeater frequencies for a few days to see if you hear anyone.

There is no procedure - whoever has the best machine/location, wins.. However - if one of the two is not busy very often, it may not be an issue. -

And you base this on?? How many have you actually touched/used/tested? I have had 3, and although not the fastest, they were very accurate. Also, still waiting for your response on those two or three other threads asking for more information to back-up your r&tarded claims and opinions.

With a strong signal, most normal people will not notice.. With a (very) weak signal it becomes more apparent and irritating.

There is nothing 'wrong' with this radio, but it is very fiddly and has a lot of options/knobs/dials/bells, and whistles.. If you like that stuff, you'll love this radio. My experience has been fine, but I prefer a less complex radio.
