I too would like to know, but if history is any guide, he will never respond because much of what he proclaims comes directly out his butt... and he knows it.
I'm just here waiting for our resident rheet-hard to leave his predictable comment that he would never buy a Midland radio and everyone he knows that has bought a Midland threw them directly into the trash..Being absolutely no help at all nor answering the question in any way.
You're not reading the specs correctly.. it is a UHF antenna that requires (simple/easy) cutting for best performance on GMRS, OR it can be cut for 70cm - not both.
I was going to say the same thing but then I got all wrapped up in responding to the rheet-hards post, and forgot all about that....
I agree.. dont give any money to some random dude that shows up and the VERY FIRST thing he does is start asking for money.
I DID put up a GMRS repeater and I used the Tram 1486. I chose it because of its low price, low weight, very low wind-profile and because it does not look like a space-ship antenna. It's also very simple to tune.
Please tell us where we can find a new, 40W, single-case/chassis, weatherproof Motorola repeater with a warranty, and weighs only 4Lbs, for 1/2 the price....
We're waiting....
All of the new ones ship with the updated firmware - BTech gave me a choice of updated or not updated and I choose NOT-Updated so I could go through the process myself and complain about it if it was difficult/failed/whatever.
Can confirm ..
This is why i always recommend purchasing via Amazon when possible because Amazon protects against this exact thing - even if you have to pay $6 more, it's worth it.
It LOOKS like it will connect/work with my XTS but I haven't tested it yet.. someone left a comment on the video and said it only works on XPR - but i dont believe them because it was just some random dude on the internet, so i'll try it.
if it doesn't work i'm not going to hassle it, i'll just give it to someone that can make use of it.
