25.00 USD/yearOur group of repeater owners comprises radio enthusiasts working together on a joint project we like to call Midwest GMRS. From Information technology to heavy construction, our repeater owners and members represent the true diversity of the Midwestern United States. Our target audience comprises IL, IN, IA, MI, MN, MO, NE, ND, OH, SD, and WI. Yearly membership covers a small portion of our monthly expenses and includes instant access to the Midwest GMRS Repeaters via our Repeater Tones page. You will no longer need to request access as membership grants it. Please consider joining; it's only $.0.48 a week! Memberships are non-refundable and paid yearly. PLEASE BE AWARE LINKING IS NO LONGER; SOME OF THE PRIVATELY LISTED REPEATERS MAY BE REMOVED FROM SERVICE DUE TO THE NEW FCC WRITINGS. REPEATER SITES' CONTINUED OPERATION WILL BE BASED ON USE AND THE OWNERS' WILL. SOME SITES HAVE GONE COMPLETELY SILENT AS MOST USERS JUST CAME TO TALK ON THE LINKS.

FreeUse of the repeater is free and I encourage its use. I am hoping to expand the coverage of the repeater by the end of 2023 or first part of 2024. Right now the antenna sits at tree level at about 70' and I will try to get it to 100' above the treeline and change the antenna to a CommSpec DB408. This should effectively expand the coverage to about 30 miles. I will be adding a list of parts needed, if you wish to contribute you can supply the parts or make a financial donation to this project. Thanks Frank WqWr627 -

FreeNorth Carolina GMRS Network is a 501(c)(3) aims to improve North Carolina community emergency communications trough a simplified radio network. This way a person that is not interested in the hobby of ammeter radio (HAM) may have some of the benefits of HAM but do not need highly technical expertise in the art of radio to communicate during an emergency or other activities. The North Carolina GMRS Network does this by publicizes and utilizes GMRS repeaters in the community to link them together for increased coverage in the state. Some repeaters will be owned by NC GMRS NET, while others may be owned by private citizens willing to contribute to the network. NC GMRS NET also utilizes temporary/mobile GMRS and commercial repeaters during major emergency events. NC GMRS wishes to be a source for repeater owners and users to improve the use of GMRS in the state.
