  1. Well if you look at the photo above of my Jeep 805G/905G placement, I needed to hear the better with the roof off. It is a speaker/MIC and works well. The 905G is one of the biggest batteries around, I get days... plus I have a Ham HT that uses the same size battery and have a back up... So I use battery eliminator in the Jeep and put one battery in cup holder if I dismount the radio. You can't go wrong because it fits you life style. That is why I like to hear others in case I miss thought of function/feature. MacJack
  2. You are welcome... Detail is from many different posts so now the first time view of your post will have to meat with the potatoes. MacJack
  3. Great Marius1195... That shows me I did it right... I not only have this same setup for my 905G but as well as my 805G with the battery eliminator with remote mic/speaker over the mirror. Show us what you did so we can learn... MacJack
  4. I do agree with Michael about carrying with the 15.4 inch antenna. I mounted my radio on the passengers hand rail and antenna goes to the windshield. MacJack
  5. Glad you are enjoying your 905G... it is a great radio... Let me know if you need some insight on multi channel slots for many repeaters... MacJack
  6. Yes and NO... I order from Amazon it was a knock off and did not work and returned it...I'm glad I had one to check and see the package and markings where different. I to am waiting for an Authentic Nagoya NA-771G (SMA Female) from buytwowayradios.com... FYI I heard it was lack of some raw material in making the antenna was the hold up and that buytwowayradios.com was the primary seller in USA... Do not quote me, it is hearsay. MacJack
  7. I have two KG-805G for the girls as it light and simple to use...I use for myself a KG-905G as I like the groups scan and all the other high tech features.... more then the girls will ever use. I got them from https://www.buytwowayradios.com and will tell you I had an issue with the first 805G as I THOUGHT IT WAS DOA. It was not, I used CHIRP software and blow away some key files in the config. So I got my second 805G and backed up the factory settings first before changing anything... Then took the factory setting backup and wrote to the first 805G and fixed it... Sent email to https://www.buytwowayradios.com and said it is working now and stop shipping replacement which they pulled off the truck. I have told others on this forum if you did not do a backup PM me with your email address and I will send it to you. In fact the President of https://www.buytwowayradios.com email me and asked if I would send him a copy of this backup file for his support team as many of his customers use CHIRP in my case on a Mac no PC's. CHIRP is not a standard programing software but IMHO better to use for programing over the Wouxun PC program which is limited on cut and paste etc. Hope this helps... I believe that a radio is a personally choice... you pick what is best for you and your family. I like FCC Part 95 certified radios, with good sound and range. Most importantly a firm that will stand behind the product even when the user like me screws up, no questions asked. I did feel bad not doing a backup before changing program on radio... I know better being in the software business. Under full discourser I have twin adopted Chinese daughter here in the USA, now 50 yo with grown kids. China government is so screwed up but the people are more or better American then us. Some of the firms in China want to make good radios to sell in US and live under the Communist dictator government. What I'm saying is I will support free Enterprise even in a Communist country. Capitalism will win over any other isms. Off my soap box, thank you for letting me to vent. OK if Forum ADM delete my post. MacJack
  8. Congratulations and welcome to the GMRS family I do have that antenna and I have it mounted on my steel bumper of my jeep and it's marginal but I do not have the same radio. Trusting others will weight in. MacJack
  9. Yes you can have same repeater with any number of same repeaters with different PL codes. Feel free to PM me and we can talk...I have two 805G and 905G as well... Will share my config file so you can look at it. MacJack
  10. Welcome Droopy... Just read all the posts, ask questions on the forum or in a private message PM... Any way you see it this forum has many interest and the biggest think is to pick a radio based on your needs... So pick what is best for you and your family needs first... I did purchased from https://www.buytwowayradios.com as I was looking for a Part 95 certified radio. Our family is having so much fun and connected to the best private local repeater. Who we have connected with personally and he encouraged me and my grand daughter to get our Ham license which we are Hams for the last month. I learned a lot as we made our family local repeater for our neighborhood in our valley which helped my 12 yo grand daughter how it all works so we pass the test. A lot of info here so ask us on this forum as we all where Newbies which I was in Nov 2020... Look at me now as a Ham... MacJack
  11. Sounds like the PO computer can't read and push the arm out or two boxes went to NY at a time. Who knows. With that free service above it has a check mark to mark it not delivered. FYI, check it out as the main Mail sorting hub takes a picture of every letter and records every package tracking number. Cool, only had one issue and letter showed up next day. MacJack
  12. Thanks for the info...
  13. You could not make up a story like this... I sign up for USPS Informed Delivery a free service if available in your area: https://informeddelivery.usps.com/box/pages/intro/start.action
  14. It is a Authentic Nagoya NA-771G Handheld GMRS Antenna (15.3 Inch) SMA Female which is out of stock... https://www.buytwowayradios.com/nagoya-na-771g.html
  15. I have https://www.buytwowayradios.com/wouxun-smo-002.html connected and draped over the mirror and works great.
  16. That is the same setup I have as well... 905G great radio. MacJack
  17. That sounds like a good plan... So you purchased a second 905G? MacJack
  18. Sad to hear USPS big computer can't handle address. Did you call B2WR and give them a heads up... My offer to help if you need it, just PM me. MacJack
  19. RR, as I said I use an old XP and not a PC guy, more Mac... I was lucky to get the groups setup with cut and paste but not now using I did see that https://www.rtsystemsinc.com/Handhelds_c_65.html will be coming out with a 905G software and not here yet... Wouxun software works, I just have not mastered it yet. Keep us up to date on what is going one... MacJack
  20. RR in are in great Company with the 905G... I like others enjoy it... If you need any help PM and we can talk and willing to walk with you in setup. MacJack
  21. I like where you are coming from... as a ham, I want a radio to do GMRS/Ham and want to look at doing DMR on the Ham side... So what Motorola would you suggest. MacJack
  22. Forgive me but I'm so lazy and old. I was at HamFest in NC and for $35 could get a great antenna without looking for all the parts... I do like the guy who makes his own and gets into it... I'm just an 74 yo and do not have the time... That is why I can respect Lscott doing it himself. MacJack
