One of the most common things I can think of is explaining tones and programming for radios to use repeaters.

Did you really think I was saying that there were 917 repeaters in Sacramento? You forgot to add the permission required to that number for a total of 1,353 if you really thought that’s what I was saying. I mean that’s some coverage. I have seen this statement before about “most repeaters needing permission” in another thread recently (I’ll link it if I find it) and it caught my attention because my area is mostly open and I was curious if in fact that was true. Sorry I misunderstood your meaning. I didn’t mean it as a personal attack. I just thought it might be a misconception. If I had to guess perhaps the more populous area’s have more “permission required” repeaters, though I certainly don’t know that for sure. As for Sacramento they seem to have a lot of repeaters and I think it’s a shame more are not open.

Actually the map page shows 917 open repeaters to 436 permission required. So most don’t require permission. You can’t even access the repeater info without a license though.

There is a bunch of repeaters around that area. Join the site and you’ll have access to the tones. edit- it looks like a bunch are permissions needed but once you join and are logged in you can request permission. I would hope that it would be granted as this is a perfect use case. Good luck and if you decide to join welcome.

Well I guess I copied the wrong link in the second one. My deepest apologies. Midland was fined for having non compliant radios. Midland is made in China. You can decide if they are cheap or not. That’s wtf it has to do with your question. I’ll try and grab the appropriate link where they were fined from the FCC or you can look it up. I don’t care. I don’t have a dog in this fight. The graphic is just to emphasize how ridiculous this thread has become IMHO. Please continue whatever this is being discussed. Alright I’ll check in later I gotta go do some yard work or something.

Have you tried logging into the site where the repeater map is? Even though the forum and the repeater site are both Mygmrs they act as separate sites so you’ll need to sign in to each. Even if it’s an open repeater I believe you still have to log in to see the tones. Hope this helps.

I’d say neither. They’re the ambulance remote that changes the traffic light. Metaphorically speaking. That is to say many would affect others blindly. I also have this for the KG-S88G and the KG-935 plus. I particularly use the USB charging with the 935 as I can plug it right into the battery (no cover to remove). As mentioned it’s handy not to have to use a desktop charger. That said I can confirm that my charging experience is the same as@WRHS218. I am not able to charge USB-C to USB-C. I have gotten in the habit when I order a new radio that I just bite the bullet and order a second battery and rotate them.

Okay so I read your post again and 32 is 462.575. If you are trying to put in 462.675 it will be on your repeater channel/diy in locations 28 or 36 and the offset will already be in there. It is easier to see and program in chirp. Hope this helps.

where are you trying to program this? Are you in channel mode? If so what channel? The offset should already be set in channel mode on the repeater channels. You wont be able to transmit in frequency mode.

Glad you were able to figure it out. Programming repeaters is certainly one of the most common newbie questions so you’re ahead of the game having got there.

Same here. Sometimes I even remember to turn the volume up.

I am with @WRXH357 on this as a good possibility. Have you tried messing with the squelch settings. Sometimes the simplest answer is the right one.
