How and where can we look GMRS call signs and owner name? A friend applied/paid and never got the email and can't find his call sign. I was speaking recently on a local GMRS repeater to someone who would only identify with his last 3 digits and his first name. It turns out that the FCC database does not allow the "*" wildcard in its Callsign query; i.e. *123 So I googled it instead with his name and up his full callsign came. 0 Lscott Posted October 20, 2021 Report Share Posted October 20, 2021 Don't under estimate how many people you talk to on the radio are sitting at their computer, or smart phone, punching in your call sign into QRZ or the FCC search engine as you speak. A few ding-dongs have been found out high-jacking somebody's else's call-sign or using one that doesn't even exist. The FCC database is more interesting because it shows your license class. More than one Ham got caught on band segments that they don't hold the proper license class to use. You can't tell from the call sign format. As if all 3 pages are actually page 1 and you can only see part of it at once. Doesn't show as a frame on the page on my browser, maybe it is. You copy the url from the browser address and you paste it in your post. Then you click on it and you click on the next page arrow to follow it to page 3.
