Tariff Wars have begun

Well, looks like we are now in a all out tariff war with China..  Now,,, when will we see the effects in the cost and supplies.  So far nothing,,  I wonder if my Chinese radios (dozens) will be worth anything

What about all of those junky/crappy radios (Midlands, TidRadios, Retevis, Wouxun, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc) that were "junk" - and you "threw straight into the trash can" ?  

Are you staying that instead of taking advantage of the warranties on ALL of those radios that you seem to know so much about and have told us you purchased, and "threw straight into the trash", you never even once considered getting a replacement instead?

I listed my original first edition Baofeng UV-82 on eBay for $350 since it's now a pre-tarrif classic..

Amazon has a limited time deal on Baofeng AR-5RM 's.  $20 even for 1.  Or 2 for $38.  Just bought the 2 pack.  Now I'll have 4.  These supplies are still in the states.

Nope.  They are I. General a total rip off.  First I take care of my stuff.  Then if you have a warranty they probably rate you to death.  The reality is warantys are a total rip off and if you take care of your stuff and don’t by garbage you wo t need a warranty.   But I’m sure you buy the junker new car with an extended warranty and road hazard with your cheap tires.   Then get upset when your junker is in the stealership for months.   Or buy the db20, h3 h8, midland rugged ect….then have to send it back and deal with the manufacturer because it’s junked out of the box.

Interesting. I have a DB-20G and 2 UV-9Gs, and never had a single problem with any of the 3. Well, aside from my own mistakes programming.

Amazon has begun to notify some China Wholesalers they won't be restocking its warehouses due to tariffs.  https://fortune.com/2025/04/09/amazon-trump-tariffs-inventory-orders-china-economy-exposure/.    The effects will soon be in our eyes.    On a personal note, i pulled the trigger and ordered up a Roly Lasermatic that i've been wanting for a few months.   There is a good chance these things will be to far out of reach.  Although the Chinese owner recently announced he is bringing the manufacturing of his stuff to the United States.

That's sounds awesome! Maybe all of us will use this exercise as a friendly reminder that it's time to start weaning ourselves off of all this throwaway junk we are so heavily addicted to.

i just heard on the news, China is the leading manufacture of Antibiotics, providing 90% of our supply.  Kennedy has already made a deal with manufactures of vetenary antibiotics to produce human consumption antibiotics with no hiccups in our supply requirement's.  It sounds like this administration has covered some important bases.
