shadowlands Posted October 7, 2022 Report Posted October 7, 2022 I've seen his videos. LOL I was just wondering if there was something like a book or a push start for someone like myself. Quote

There’s not very many books on GMRS, like a “For Dummies” book, but many of the concepts will be very similar in ham radio and there are a buttload of books for that. I suggest visiting the public library. Another thing would be to see if there’s a local to you radio club, either GMRS or ham radio (many of us enjoy both.) And of course don’t hesitate to ask questions here. Quote
shadowlands Posted October 13, 2022 Report Posted October 13, 2022 Good day everyone. If I wanted to sell a couple GMRS radios, where could I post that? Quote

WRUX385 Posted October 29, 2022 Report Posted October 29, 2022 Howdy... totally new to the world of GMRS. Just got my new Bronco and plan to get back to some off-roading here in Colorado, hence the radio. Did some research, talked to some folks and I ended with a license and a radio to keep in contact on the trails. As a long time pilot I'm quite comfortable on the radios, but it's just in the plane and does its thing when I need to chat with ATC. Getting into the real ins and outs of GMRS has caught my interest even though it came about indirectly through the off-roading world. Purchased a Wouxun KG-935G to get started. Got some good reviews. Glad to be here and have the opportunity to learn from the "pros" out there. gearjunkie 1 Quote
gearjunkie Posted November 24, 2022 Report Posted November 24, 2022 Literally just got my GMRS license. Just wanted to say hello and anybody local to me? Western New York area. Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse? Quote

TheLostMedic Posted December 13, 2022 Report Posted December 13, 2022 New to GMRS just received my license and ordered two radios, Wouxun KG-XS20G Plus and the KG-935G. Looking forward to learning about them and putting them to use! From Southeastern Iowa. Quote
WRVQ266 Posted December 27, 2022 Report Posted December 27, 2022 New to GMRS from Albuquerque NM. Acquired my license last week, a pair of Tidradio GM-5R radios, and am looking forward to learning more and interacting through the forum. Quote
USAFNoah Posted December 29, 2022 Report Posted December 29, 2022 Hey guys. Total GMRS noob here in the Placer County, CA area. Got my license and a shiny new Wouxun KG1000-G for my off-roading trips. I don't know anything about repeaters but learn really fast. Any tips are appreciated. Quote
WRQU804 Posted December 30, 2022 Report Posted December 30, 2022 Hey guys, I’m Jeff. New to GMRS but I’m a ham and have worked in emergency services for the last 25 years. Talking on the radio for work the last 25 years sort of took away my desire to use a radio off duty. But with retirement coming up, I plan on spending more time in the woods and traveling, so I’d like to expand my communication potential. Looking forward to utilizing the site. Quote
WRVR953 Posted December 30, 2022 Report Posted December 30, 2022 Howdy all. New to GMRS, just got that and my ham technician license a little while back (planning to bump to the general next week and AE sometime down the line). Looking forward to learning about things and getting involved in the community. Located in AZ, southeast of Phoenix. kerstuff 1 Quote
